Peek-a-boo Orange Juice recipe
The recipe is called Peek-a-Boo Orange Juice because the blend of carrot and lemon creates a flavor almost identical to oranges. The addition of lemons also help preserve the juice if you want to make it in advance. This carrot + lemon juice is cleansing, supports liver, eye health, and is one of the top sources of beta-carotene (1, 2).
For inspiration to drink carrot juice daily, check out this incredible healing journey story, Curing Cancer with Carrots written by Ann Cameron. She shares how reversing symptoms of stage 4 colon cancer was made possible by the simple addition of a daily serving of carrot juice.
Peek-a-Boo Orange Juice is such a joy to drink, it easily becomes a daily habit for breakfast! You will definitely notice a difference after drinking it consecutively for a week. This recipe makes approximately 32 oz. of juice, amount depends on your juicer. I use the Omega J8006 Juicer. Consider dividing the recipe if it’s your first time drinking the juice to avoid what I’ve nicknamed a “juice high.” It just means you’re head will feel a little light if you drink it quickly, if you are new to carrot juice.
Ingredients:
- 5 lbs Carrots
- 1-2 Lemons, peel most of the rind off
Juice all ingredients, store any leftovers in a glass jar in the refrigerator. If possible, use a jar that fits the exact size of your juice amount, not leaving any space for air in the jar while being stored to slow oxidation of all the delicious nutrients.
Enjoy!
Jessie
